In roll markers, the object to be marked is rolled under a stamp holder. The stamp holder contains the stamps. By rolling the stamps across the material, the coding is created. This machine is used to provide coding on tubes and circular discs.
The great advantage of creating coding on round products using a roll marking machine is that the coding can be created somewhat faster than with, for example, a dot marking machine and a laser. A downside is that modifying the coding is quite work intensive.
