Our ID and barcode scanners completely automate the identification and monitoring processes within your production line by reading barcodes. The applications in which cameras are used are incredibly varied. From checking barcodes or 2D codes on a product to tracing a component of a product within a production process.
Below you can read more about several product types within ID and barcode readers. There are various models available within the product groups.

The laser scanner is the barcode scanner most people have heard of. This scanner uses a laser beam in order to read the black/white spaces in a barcode by means of reflection. This type of scanner only reads standard linear (1D) barcodes.
Laser scanners are generally a budget-friendly solution. Standard laser scanners read a barcode from a distance of a couple of centimetres to a few meters, depending on the x-dimension of the barcode. There are various models: with a moving mirror, a grid pattern (multiple scan lines) and an X-pattern.
Laser scanners cannot read 2D codes. Damaged codes or codes with low contrast can also cause problems.
Would you like to know more about the various models of this type of scanner?
You can read more about the different models in the brochures. The range is very diverse within this product group. Are you still undecided which model is right for you? Consult one of our Sales Engineers about the best type for your application.

The 2D Imagers are equipped with a CMOS or CCD sensor. A 2D Imager reads an image and analyses it. A 2D scanner reads all types of barcode: 1D, stacked or 2D barcodes are no problem at all for this scanner’s keen eye. Damaged, badly-printed or low-contrast codes can also be read.
2D codes, such as data matrices, PDF417s and QR codes, are increasingly being used. As a result, we are seeing a shift in demand. Where previously a laser scanner was sufficient, 2D imagers are now required in order to read the data properly.
Scanner tailored precisely to your needs
The correct lens and exposure is determined based on the function the scanner will have in your production process. There is an extensive range of possibilities here. Putting together a 2D scanner often requires a lot of custom work.
Do not hesitate, and let one of our Sales Engineers know what you need. They will then create a proposal tailored to your specific situation.
