BMI-Thegon combines SIC laser with a cobot
At BMI-Thegon in Baak, there are several advanced machining CNC machines. Combined with their years of experience and extensive knowledge of machining and materials, they produce the desired parts to a very high quality using these machines.
That quality is guaranteed by a strict working method that includes several quality checks. And in everything they do, they look for ways to do it more sustainably. For everyone at BMI-Thegon, it’s also the quality of our living environment that’s important.
Marking products
Because BMI-Thegon makes products and components for various clients, the marking demand is very diverse. BMI-Thegon addresses this by using a variety of marking techniques. Among other things, they employ a dot peen marker and laser engraver for marking. The dot peen markers can place any desired marking, from a unique number or a data matrix code to the client's logo.
Automation step
To respond to increasing demand, BMI-Thegon recently took a step towards automation: the laser marking station now works together with a cobot. No personnel are needed to place the products or parts in the machine. Those hands can be nicely deployed elsewhere on the shop floor. Are you curious about the ‘collaboration’ between the laser marking station and the cobot? Check it out in this video.
Laser marking station
The laser marking station used by BMI-Thegon is an L-Box from SIC marking. The beauty of the application at BMI-Thegon is that you can see how well the laser marking station can be operated with a robotic arm. The laser marking station can also be operated very well by hand. A flexible machine that is also easy to operate and requires little maintenance.
