Uniekaas is packaged in different ways

Uniekaas is the oldest cheese brand in the Netherlands. In 1956, the basis for the tasty quality cheese was laid. Since 2009, the storage, ripening and processing of the cheeses have taken place at one location, in Kaatsheuvel.

All its cheeses have been made according to original in-house recipes for years. Up to 1.5 million kilos of cheese are left to mature naturally in the cheese warehouse. The cheese masters at Uniekaas have a nose for the tastiest cheeses. Only once the taste is optimised are the cheeses cut and packaged.

Stringent quality standards are the norm throughout the production process. This starts with the selection of the farmers and ends with the packaging and delivery. Only top-quality cheese is delivered. And you can taste it!

Different packaging, different solutions
At Uniekaas, cheese is packaged in different ways. Blocks, sliced and grated cheese, all types are nicely packaged. There are several packaging lines for the different ways of packaging. During packaging, (real-time) information has to be placed on the packages. That, too, is done in different ways.

Take a look at some of the ways at Uniekaas:

Printing directly on the film packaging
The slices of cheese are wrapped in a film. The best-before date is placed on the film using a Zodiac thermal transfer printer.

Printed label on film packaging
Cheese slices are also wrapped in film, with a label placed on the film. A Zodiac thermal transfer printer prints real-time information on the labels. The labels are stuck onto the film packaging with an EME labeller.

Printed label on cheese packaging
The cheese blocks are packed in thermoformed packaging. A pre-printed label is placed on the top. A pre-printed label with printed information is placed on the bottom. The labels are stuck on the top and bottom, four at a time.
